Drab To Fab Furniture Upcycling

I can’t believe how fast this summer season has flown by, and although I am still growing veggies in my backyard garden, it’s time to switch gears and get ready for the fall season.  I have a few projects that I have lined up:  decorating the front of my home with some autumn flair, turning some furniture finds from drab to fab, and hopefully tiling my personal bathroom floor.  (that’s only if I can get this darn cam-walker boot off of my foot, it’s driving me nuts)!   I have been looking on Pinterest, Hometalk, and several other home decor sites for different DIY projects that are budget friendly and add a little something unique to my home.

So, first on my agenda is painting some furniture pieces that I have acquired, so I signed up for an online class called:

Last fall I painted the below computer cabinet from a dull, ugly, brown to a beautiful cream color.   I am really pleased with how it turned out, and of course the savings that I racked up by not having to buy something new.

But now, I currently have a few antique pieces of furniture that I want to paint, and bring out the details just like the pros do.    The Drab To Fab Furniture Upcycling Class teaches decorative painting methods such as faux finishing, distressing, crackling, using stencil, stripe and tape techniques.  I can’t tell you how many times I have found some old furniture pieces at garage sales and thrift stores and wished that I would have had the skills to re-finish them into master creations. 🙂

As I begin to start on my re-do & re-new furniture projects, I promise to show you my before and after pictures, and if any of you decide to take the furniture upcycling class, please let me know, because I would love to see what masterpieces you come up with.  Also, there are a ton of Craftsy classes on sale right now, in fact the class that I just signed up for was only $9.99.   🙂 I look forward to sharing all of my upcoming fall projects, and hope that all of you continue to find DIY ways to save.

Just so ya know that some of the above links are my affiliate links, and if you decide to buy or try I may get a small commission.  Thank you for your continued support, now let’s get to crafting!
